If you want to dig deeper into the many fears we all encounter in the creative aspects of our work — and the mindsets needed to overcome them — try the chapters on Fears About Yourself, Fears About Others, and Finding Your Work in Art & Fear: Observations On The Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking, by David Bayles and Ted Orland (1993). Don’t be fooled by the focus on “Art” in the title. The concepts apply to any work that includes creativity and innovation, i.e., any work worthy of your time and effort.
